Some projects begin with a sketch. This one began with a feeling.
For over a year, I had been quietly dreaming about what would happen if I applied the same philosophy I bring to interiors, intentional sourcing, meaningful craft, one-of-a-kind results, to what we wear. The answer was this collection. A series of reworked blazers, each one beginning its life as a pre-loved piece and ending as something entirely new.
The collaboration is with a talented designer based in Bangkok, working alongside local artisans and elderly members of the community, people whose skill and patience bring each piece to life by hand. No two blazers are ever the same. That’s not a marketing line; it’s just the truth of how they’re made.
The Process
Each piece starts with sourcing, hunting for pre-loved jackets with good bones, interesting fabric, something worth saving. From there, the design work begins: the embellishments, the reworking, the decisions about what to add, what to strip back, what to let breathe. The final hand-finishing happens in the artisan community, where traditional craft meets a very modern idea about what fashion can be.
The result is something that sits somewhere between wardrobe and gallery. A blazer you reach for because it makes you feel a little different — bolder, more considered, more yourself.
Investment
Pieces from the collection range from SGD $295 to $750, with customisation available for those wanting something made specifically with them in mind.
The Why
This project is an extension of everything Hills & West was built on — supporting artisans, giving materials a second life, creating things with purpose and beauty woven together. It’s sustainable fashion, but not in a worthy, earnest way. In a this-is-just-a-better-way-to-make-things way.
The response since the first drop has been genuinely wonderful. Over half of the first collection found homes within days, many after people stopped Aisha at events to ask where on earth the blazer came from.
That felt like a sign to keep going.
