From Office to Oasis: A Commercial Space That Tells a Story – QLD

Introduction:

Step into one of our commercial projects, where we’ve transformed an office space into a warm and inviting environment that feels like home. Embracing the essence of our client’s timber industry heritage, we curated a nostalgic journey through historic prints and captivating imagery. Our focus on comfort, pride and personal touches ensures that every corner of this space tells a story and fosters a deep sense of belonging for the team.

Bringing Values to Life: Personalised. Local. Progressive.

To breathe life into the company’s values, we started by capturing the heart of the business—its people. Our project began with an on-site photoshoot, documenting every department in action, from the training team to the engineers, production line and plate presses. We photographed moments of quality control, machinery testing, paint spraying, adding rivets and hands-on collaboration, highlighting the craftsmanship and dedication behind each product. These images, blown up to striking A1 prints and framed, were thoughtfully placed in key areas throughout the office, showcasing the diversity of the business and the pride the team takes in their work.

This family-run company has always fostered a sense of belonging, but we wanted to make that visible. The framed photos celebrate not just the products but the people who perfect them, turning every corner into a tribute to the hands that drive the business forward. To reflect the company’s timber industry roots, we incorporated custom wood consoles and chairs, anchoring the space in its rich heritage. The main area, a versatile hub for events, training and meetings, features an oversized modular sofa in the brand’s signature colors, symbolizing the company’s progressive and adaptable spirit.

We echoed the logo in bold reception signage and subtle touches, like the rugs that soften communal spaces. Details mattered, so we added greenery to bring freshness, a welcoming scent to greet guests, a brochure stand that encouraged viewing and a screen displaying impactful imagery and videos at reception. Meeting rooms were outfitted with glassware in brand colours and a well-stocked fridge in the screening room brought a touch of everyday comfort. Every element, from the functional to the decorative, was selected to make the office feel not just like a workplace, but a vibrant, welcoming second home.

Reflection:

As we reflect on this project, we’re reminded of the power of design to create not just functional spaces, but meaningful experiences. By weaving elements of history, personalisation and brand identity into every detail, we’ve crafted more than just an office space—we’ve created a sanctuary where employees feel valued, inspired and proud to call their second home.

From the oversized frames showcasing the company’s heritage to the thoughtful touches in the meeting rooms, every aspect of this project speaks to the client’s vision of creating a space that embodies their values and cultivates a sense of community.

We are already starting to curate some of their new office spaces. We love seeing our client’s continue to grow from strength to strength.

Working from home

"We couldn’t be happier with the transformation of our head office. From the start, Aisha and her team understood our vision and brought it to life. The entire process was seamless. The photo shoot they arranged was invaluable—it provided us with stunning shots that we’ve used across our marketing materials. The end result has truly exceeded our expectations. The selection of materials and textures perfectly reflects our company’s heritage and brand ethos while creating a welcoming and inspiring environment. Our team loves the new office, and we often receive compliments on how modern and inviting it feels. Aisha’s ability to weave our story into the design has made this space not just a workplace, but a home away from home."
